Insanity. And a blog award.

The past ten days have been a blur of sorting, donating, cleaning, painting, and otherwise trying to de-clutter our apartment and get it ready for other people to see. To give you an idea of just how crazy it was, it took me 12 days to read Rick Riordan's The Red Pyramid. Normally, it would've taken me two. So during those precious moments when I DID have time to read, I felt like this:

But now the apartment is so clean it sparkles. When I told my five-year-old this, he asked if I'd sprinkled glitter everywhere. At least he didn't ask if it looked like vampire skin.

And in the midst of all that cleaning, I felt anything but stylish, and yet Julie Hedlund, critique partner extraordinaire, gave me the Stylish Blogger Award. Thank you Julie! It came at a time when I needed a little pick-me-up.

Out of curiosity, what are the "rules" about passing on an award you've already passed on? Do you do it all over again?

  1. Ah, the joy of sparkling clean that doesn't resemble vampire skin! Congratulations on the STYLISH blogger Award, Alison!

  2. Congrats on the award and the sparkling apartment! Good luck with the move!

I'm happy to say my kids have no idea about sparkling vampire skin.

  3. Congratulations on the award and a clean apartment! And when I get an award the second time, I usually just say thanks.

  4. Thanks Clara!

Brooke: Mine don't either, and I'd like to keep it that way for a while...

Alex: Thanks! The clean apartment lasted until the kids got home from school today.

  5. When I get an award I received before, sometimes I pass it on, but most of the time I just link to the person on my blog awards page.

    Yay, cleanliness.

  6. Oh wow; everything I wrote here was so sarcastic its probably offensive.

    One more try.

    Nope.

I'll try this: I like blogger awards, and I'm glad people think of me more than once. I try to be creative more than once too; and acknowledge my new friends/followers with blogger encouragement.

    I have no tact.

  7. I love the feeling of a house soo clean it sparkles (vampire skin or not). I especially enjoy it when I don't have to do it. Of course THAT never happens.

    Congratulations on your award!

  8. Congrats on the award and the clean house. I wish I could say MY house sparkled, but I have definite clumps of dog hair under the couch. Sigh. Guess it's time to haul out the vacuum :)

Blog awards are SO nice, and I love getting them, but if I get one more than once I usually say thanks and link to the person who gave it to me. Too much blog awarding gets to be a little like chain mail - overwhelming.
